Yesterday, Sajid Nadiadwala was all set to return to Mumbai to his wife Wardha and children Subhaan and Sufiyan. The producer, who is in London shooting Housefull, cancelled his plansu00a0 because his rakhi sister Farah Khan requested him to stay back as it was Raksha Bandhan and she wanted to tie him a rakhi she had bought from Mumbai. Khan, incidentally is choreographing for Sajid's film.
Farah and Sajid have been close for years. He also supported her decision to marry Shirish Kunder and when he wanted to direct films, Nadiadwala gave him the opportunity to make a big film like Jaan-E-Mann with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan in the lead.
Sajid confirms delaying his return, "I was to board a flight to Mumbai yesterday but Farah had bought a beautiful rakhi for me from Mumbai and she requested me to stay back. Farah and I have always been very close and I can never refuse her anything she wants.
Yesterday, we had a formal Raksha Bandhan ceremony where Farah got the traditional thali with diyas, sweets, roli tika, rice, shagun ka nariyal along with the dhaaga and tied rakhis to Sajid (Khan) and me. It was very sweet and I was very touched that Farah had remembered the festival and gone to so much effort for us. I haven't yet decided what to gift Farah. She can ask for anything..."
A couple of years ago, after the release of Jaan-E-Mann (directed by Farah's husband Shirish Kunder) Farah and Sajid had a fallout and didn't speak to each other (nor did Farah tieu00a0 Nadiadwala a rakhi) for almost a year. But after the birth of Farah's triplets, Diva, Anya and Czar and Sajid's son Sufiyan, the two resolved their differences and ended their cold war.
