"After the harsh months of summer the rains calm my soul and I feel at peace with myself," says Anu Mallik. He loves strolling down Juhu beach in the rains while munching on a hot bhutta. Or just drive away to Lonavala, his favourite monsoon destination on a wet weekend. To Anu, the showers are synonymous with romance. Here are the most romantic songs that come to his mind when the heavens open up:

WHO: Anu Mallik
WHAT: Talking about his favourite rain songs

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid - I simply love this song for its tune and lyrics. Whenever I listen to this number, I can feel the raindrops on my head sitting in my home. I'm a big fan of old numbers, this one especially.

Bheegi Bheegi Raato Mein from Ajnabee - I love this song for its lyrics. The question answer format is wonderfully executed by Kishoreda and Lataji. It completely mesmerises me. The couple in the song are totally in love and don't care about what's happening around them. It just soaks me in its rainy romance.

Zindagi Bhar Nahi Bhoolegi Woh Barsaat Ki Raat - I like the way the word barsaat has been used in this composition. This Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar song is made for two people in love and invokes romantic feelings in the listener.

Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua Hai from Shree 420 - I know it is not a rain song, but I find it extremely romantic because of the way it has been shot with an umbrella. In fact, I wrote a few songs with this shot in mindu00a0-- street lamps, kids running on the pavement, the couple cuddled together and drenched in an attempt to save each other from the rains. I can't get over this song.

Rim Jhim Gire Saawan Sulag Sulag Jaye Mann from Manzilu00a0- This Pancham da (RD Burman) number sung by my all-time favourite singer Kishoreda has been sung so beautifully that you feel like stepping out in the rain with your beloved. The words have been woven together wonderfully to describe the feelings of a lover.
