When Chunky saw 'Shahid'

Chunkey Pandey, the host of Star One's Pehchaan Kaun says, "I have been getting a lot of flak for featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Rakesh Roshan lookalikes on the show.

Recently, I was shooting in Filmistan where Shahid Kapoor was shooting for his next film. When I dropped in to meet him he was busy, so I left a message.

I was resting in my van when Shahid came in and started chatting. I knew him when he was seeing Kareena but we drifted apart. So I just started chatting away.

Imagine my shock and embarrassment when Shahid got up suddenly and touched my feet with respect! Then I discovered that it wasn't Shahid but his lookalike from the show who had come to seek my blessings!

I was highly amused but can't believe that someone could look so like Shahid!"

Erm, he's half your age, Chunky; why wouldn't the real Shahid touch your feet? You'll say anything for publicity, won't you?

Goswami's new soap Dehleez on NDTV Imagine from February 16 at 9 pm.The cast includes Rakesh Pandey, Savita Prabhune and Bhuvnesh while the concept deals with the problems of a working middle class woman. His earlier soaps include Aisa Des Hai Mera, Sarkar, Kittu Sab Janti Hai.

The soap went on air in October and due to the twist in the tale, a new title has been given. Is this gonna be the new trend?

Cameo snip

Irrfan Khan, who was once a TV actor in shows like Chanakya, Banegi Apni Baat and Chandrakanta will be seen doing a cameo in Red Chillies's show Ghar Ki Baat Hai on NDTV Imagine.

As part of the promotions of his film Billu Barber, Irrfan has one of the cast members Juhi Babbar go to him for a new cut. The episode also features Jayati Bhatia and will be telecast tonight. Incidentally, it was shot at Maya salon at Juhu a place Juhi frequents.

Chance by luck

Ali Merchant is doing a cameo in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) as the suitor for Hina Khan who plays Akshara.

Ali is the real life boyfriend of Sara Khan of Bidaai fame. Buzz is that she put in a word with Rajan Shahi, producer of both the shows. "I cast Ali after seeing his anchoring in Nach Baliye," says Shahi. Oh well!
