Actress Tanushree Dutta has been missing from the big screen since her last release Saas Bahu Aur Sensex in 2008. However, the beauty queen is now gearing up to scare audiences with Rokkk, a new horror flick. She tells CS about her excitement and why she chose to act in this genre of films:

All excited

This is a different role for me, and I have worked really hard for it. I play the role of a young girl who is married off to a much older man. At one point, I also get possessed in the film. But in the end, the fate of my film is not in my hands, I can only work on my character.

Love for horror

While I do believe in the forces of nature, I am way too practical to be superstitious in daily life. I love watching horror films and I must have seen all the popular ones more than seven-eight times. In fact, I must have seen the Exorcism of Emily Rose at least twenty times. Ring, Grudge, Amityville Horror, A Tale of Two Sisters are my other favourites. I can catch watch horror films all alone, as I don't get scared!

Spooky incident

Once I was holidaying in Pune with my friends. We were clicking pictures at around 1 am outside the place where we were staying. Later, when we were looking at the pictures, we saw a white shadow in some of them. This came only in the pictures of a particular spot. We went back to inspect the area, but there was nothing there. That was quite a spooky incident as I had heard that wandering spirits sometimes get captured on camera at times.u00a0

Taking a break

Well, I signed my first film within three months, just after I won the Miss India crown in 2004. In fact, I did around 18-19 films from 2004-08. Everything happened too fast and I was left gasping for breath. I had signed a number of projects, and I was working round the clock.

I needed this break to sit down and sort out my priorities. You'll soon see me in Apartment, a psychological thriller where I play the victim of abuse. It has a very interesting concept. A Tamil film is also on the anvil. Besides, I do regular stage shows and appearances. I am now concentrating on good films and varied roles. All I want is my work to be appreciated.
