Baaghi 2 makers replace action scenes with breathtaking chase sequence between Tiger Shroff and Prateik Babbar
Given the physical genius that he is, few can tire of watching Tiger Shroff pull off martial arts sequences for reel. However, for Baaghi 2, director Ahmed Khan has put the actor's endurance to test, to treat fans to a breathtaking chase sequence instead. Shroff and co-actor Prateik Babbar recently navigated the narrow lanes of Goa to film for the sequence, which took Khan close to three months to plan. A source tells mid-day, "Ahmed did not want to film a regular action scene in Goa, like other filmmakers do. He connected with the government and took a blanket permission to shoot across the state. The chase sequence between Tiger and Prateik sees them shoot past the streets of Panjim, Dona Paula and Candolim."

The actors, says the source, were made to zip past the streets at 60 miles per hour. "The set up, including the police stalls, shops and the cars and buses, was entirely created by the team. A minimum of 10 to 12 cameras followed the actors when on the run. The duo cut through cars, jumped off buses, and landed on vehicles." The sequence was shot over six days, the source says, adding that Khan turned to a scene in Yash Chopra's Darr, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol, for inspiration. Action director duo Ram Lakshman brought Khan's vision to life, while a special traffic coordinator was also roped in. "It took the unit three months, five recces and several storyboarding sessions to pull it off."

While fitness enthusiast Shroff only had to work on his endurance by upping his cardio regimen, it was Babbar, who, we hear, had to put in more toil to match the former. "There are no body-doubles or cables in the scene. The actors were running at high speeds for multiple takes. Thus, the training given to them was exhaustive. After every three takes, the team had to break for an hour to give the actors time to unwind. There was an ambulance, dietician and physiotherapist on sets every day." Khan confirms the news to mid-day, stating that Nadiadwala requested for "an iconic chase sequence." While a major chunk of the film has already been shot, a climax sequence has yet to be filmed. The unit is expected to fly to Thailand's Krabi to shoot for it this month.
