Vikram Bhatt returns to his name-changing ways. After getting Mimoh to become Mahakshay, he now gets the female lead in his next to change from Twinkle to Tia

After getting Mimoh Chakraborthy to revert to his birth name Mahakshay, Vikram Bhatt has rechristened telly actress Twinkle Bajpai (Betiyaan) as Tia.

Bhatt's next horror offering, Haunted, is being touted as a relaunch for Mithun's son and also marks Twinkle's (now Tia) big screen debut.

Explains Vikram, "I decided to change Twinkle's name as I feel it is a strange name. The persona gives the impression of lights going on and off.

I want light in my life. As it is, I have had enough darkness in my life. I don't want any more blackouts."

Another reason is that there's already a Twinkle in the industry ufffd Akshay Kumar's wife. "I felt Tia simply made more sense," says the filmmaker.

The shoot of Haunted, which is the country's first 3D horror flick, is complete and is slated to release on April 15.

As reported ('Mahakshay'; HiTLIST, July 21), Mithun had named his son Mahakshay when he was born. But as it was a tongue-twister, he called him Mimoh. However, Bhatt feels going back to his birth name will prove favourable for the youngster's comeback.
