Clothes make a (wo)man, they say, Now Shabana Azmi, who recently turned 60, is all set to make a difference to people's lives by donating hers. The actor who is a part of the Ek Jodi Kapda initiative talks to CS:

Warming up
It is very presumptuous of us to associate roti, kapda aur makaan only with disasters. But every winter, we read news reports about how people die trying to keep themselves warm. In fact, I once came across the story of a girl child from Delhi who hugs corpses to stay warm. It is a telling comment on the status of street children even after 60 years of Independence.
Style diva
I'm not too crazy about labels. Instead, I prefer putting together an ensemble of my own. And, I have no qualms about repeating clothes at events. If you are not able to wear your favourite outfit again and again, what's the point?
When I'm abroad, I usually wear western clothes. When it comes to jewellery, I'm not at all into diamonds. I like wearing jewellery designed by a Jaipur designer, Neelam Nancy. A solid neckpiece or earrings is more my style.
I do not really follow any fashion trend, but I do like dressing according to the occasion. I cringe when I run into people who wear torn jeans and T-shirts at awards ceremonies or other important events. I do not think this is cool.
