Agastya Nanda opened up about his character of Arun Khetarpal in his upcoming war drama Ikkis. He revealed how music played an important role in helping him understand his character and its emotional depth

As the anticipation around Agastya Nanda starrer Ikkis continues to build, the songs of the film include Sitaare, Ban Ke Dikha Ikkis, Tera Aashiq, and Sajda. Sharing his thoughts on the music album, Agastya shared a statement saying that music played a crucial role in helping him understand his character in the movie as a young soldier. Agastya said, "Seeing the love each song has received has been truly overwhelming. Music played a huge role in helping me understand my character and its emotional journey. Listening to the complete album now feels like revisiting those moments on set, which were honest, emotional, and very close to my heart."
Meanwhile, actress Simar Bhatia, who will be seen playing his love interest in the movie, added, "The love the songs have received has been incredibly special. Each track feels deeply emotional and purposeful. The music doesn't just support the film, it becomes a part of the characters, and that's what makes this album so close to my heart."
Agastya Nanda's character in Ikkis
Agastya Nanda plays the role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal in Ikkis. He was an Indian Army officer and tank commander, celebrated as one of India's finest tank aces with 10 confirmed tank kills to his credit. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honour, for his extraordinary bravery in the face of the enemy. Khetarpal was killed in action during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
The upcoming action drama is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. It is inspired by the life of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Earlier, while talking about his character, Agastya had said, "When I first heard about Arun Khetarpal, I felt extremely grateful to have the opportunity to play such a great and famous character from the army."
