Amaal Mallik has emerged as one of the most talked-about contestants of Bigg Boss 19. From opening up about depression to feuding with Anu Malik’s family, he believes in not mincing his words. He recently recalled how Anu Malik’s family abandoned him during the Mumbai floods and even ill-treated his mother. The composer has now reacted to his nephew’s claims, calling them a lie.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Anu Malik responded to nephew Amaal's allegations by saying, "A lie told 1,000 times will never become the truth. One can’t waste energy reacting to everything."

The 64-year-old musician further recalled what his father, Sardar Malik, once advised him: "My father always told me, never allow poison to churn in your mind. If you do, you’ll never be a good composer. People may hurt you, but they can’t take away your talent — that’s yours. I sit at my piano, make a new tune, and that’s my answer to the world," he shared.

Anu Malik admitted that he does feel under-appreciated for his contributions to the industry. "I feel like I’ve been underused and underutilised. There’s still so much more I can give."

He shared, “We are two swords of the same empire; no one has a bigger heart than my father. Seeing this, I became a warrior. In 2005, when it rained in Mumbai on 26 July, I must have been seven years old. Juhu is a low-lying area, so it was flooded. His (Anu Malik’s) family saw me outside the gate struggling and crying, and the water was up to my chest. And I saw they locked their Mercedes, and I was left there. Manholes were open, and another friend of my father’s wife saw me and picked me up and got me into her car. I was waving. I saw my aunt going to the car; the driver was there. Instead of opening the door, she just locked it. When I came home and said this, hell broke loose.”

Amaal was recently in the news after his ugly spat with Kunickaa Sadanand, during which they dragged families and abused each other.
