Actor Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Peter Haag, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in the Andheri court in Mumbai. She has sought damages of Rs 50 crore and additional compensation for loss of income and property. The case has been verified, and a notice has been issued to Peter Haag, who resides in Austria, for December 12, 2025.

Notice issued to Peter Haag

According to an update from Jaitly’s team, a notice has now been served to her Austrian husband. The case filed by former Miss India winner, Miss Universe runner-up, and well-known Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly (now Celina Jaitly Haag) against her husband, Mr. Peter Haag, under the Domestic Violence Act—for domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation—came up today before the Court of Shri S.C. Tadye, Learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Andheri, for verification and notice.

When the matter was taken up, the case was verified, and the Learned Judge issued notice to Mr. Peter Haag for December 12, 2025.

Ms. Celina Jaitly is represented by a team from the law firm Karanjawala & Co., comprising Mr. Sandeep Kapur (Senior Partner), Ms. Niharika Karanjawala Misra (Principal Associate), and Ms. Rytim Vohra Ahuja (Senior Associate), along with local Mumbai lawyer Mr. Arpan Rajput.

About the domestic violence case

In her petition, Celina claims that her husband “prohibited her from working on various pretexts and robbed her of her financial independence and dignity.” She has also alleged that Peter Haag pressured her to transfer ownership of her Mumbai residence to his name while she was suffering severe depression following the death of her newborn child and the loss of both her parents within a few months.

Celina further states that she was subjected to “severe emotional, physical, sexual, verbal, and financial abuse,” which ultimately forced her to flee their home in Austria and return to India without her children.

Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag were married on September 18, 2010, at her residence in Mumbai, according to Hindu rituals, in the presence of close friends and family. Their marriage was registered under Austrian civil law on September 22. The couple shares three children—Winston, Viraaj, and Arthur.
