As Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge gears up for an explosive release, the buzz around the film is constantly heightening by the minute. Ahead of its March 19 release, there are many speculations and theories about what can be expected from Dhurandhar 2. Amid this, the film’s censor certificate has now gone viral, which not only shows the cuts suggested by CBFC but also hints at certain plot points.

CBFC cuts in Dhurandhar The Revenge

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process and has received an A certificate. The makers have reportedly been asked to make as many as 21 modifications to the final cut. The changes include violence disclaimers and reduction of scenes featuring 'abusive words', 'hitting the head with a hammer', 'beheading and kicking', 'hitting the head with cement blocks' and 'smashing the eye'.

The makers have also been asked to update the date of demonetisation, which indicates that the film could have a demonetisation plot. The certificate also reveals that Dhurandhar 2 will feature an end-credits scene, just like in the first part of the franchise. Additionally, the makers have also submitted an official permission letter to the CBFC 'for the usage of the Prime Minister references and news footage in the film'.

The version submitted to the CBFC was approximately 3 hours and 51 minutes. However, after the cuts, the certificate reveals that the film’s runtime has been reduced by 1 minute and 34 seconds, while 25 seconds of footage have been replaced. Dhurandhar 2's domestic runtime, according to the leaked certificate, is 3 hours, 49 minutes, and 6 seconds, which is 6 minutes shorter than the overseas cut. This means Dhurandhar: The Revenge will have a 15-minute longer runtime than the first part of the franchise, which ran 3 hours and 34 minutes.
