The tumultuous relationship between filmmaker Anil Sharma and actress Ameesha Patel, which began with the release of Gadar 2, appears to have subsided with time.

At the height of the dispute, Ameesha Patel expressed her disappointment, admitting that she felt 'cheated' when the film's climax was changed without her knowledge. The actress had anticipated a larger role in Sunny Deol's movie.

Anil Sharma, in response, rejected the schism by labeling her 'moody' and stated in an interview that while everyone is entitled to their own opinions, he still considers her "a part of his family."

When asked if their equation has changed, Anil Sharma told News18 Showsha, "My equation with Ameesha is excellent now. Waqt ke saath saath, cheezein sahi ho jaati hai. Abhi se badhiya! (Time heals everything. Now, everything is fine.)"

According to reports, Ameesha Patel has added a condition to her agreement to reprise Sakina: her love story with Tara Singh must stay important to the plot. When questioned about this, Anil stated, "Sakina and Tara are an intrinsic part of Gadar. But we'll talk more about her character before the release of Gadar 3."

In contrast, Ameesha did not hesitate to address the issue in public. In a chat session on X, she admitted that they had 'creative differences' and stated that she would only commit to Gadar 3 if she felt'super enthusiastic' about the script, like she did with the original Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

What had happened between Ameesha and the filmmaker?

Later, on a podcast with Maniesh Paul, she claimed that elements of Gadar 3's climax were filmed without her cooperation. Nonetheless, she said she preferred to 'let bygones be bygones'. At the same time, she stated that she would only proceed with the third installment provided sufficient paperwork and contractual precautions were in place.

The director revealed that the script for Gadar 3 is complete, assuring fans that the wait will be far less than the 22-year gap between the first two films. "Gadar 3 will definitely be made..." We hope to have it on the floors within the next two years. We've already worked on the script. "It will center on the stories of Tara and Jeete," he said.

Anil Sharma also warmly remembered the unprecedented success of Gadar 2, which debuted in August 2023 and became the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year. "On the evening of August 9, we sold almost 20 lakh tickets. "I believe no other film has been able to create that kind of history," he stated proudly.
