Fighter actor Akshay Oberoi has often shared how Hrithik Roshan inspired him to become an actor and sharing screen space with him was truly a dream come true for him. As we celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima today, Akshay exclusively shared with us his fond memory with Hrithik revealing how he helped him during a crucial scene.

When asked why he considers Hrithik as his mentor, Akshay states, “It’s the small things he does. I got a chance to dance with him in Sher Khul Gaye and he is known as the Micheal Jackson of India. One of the greatest dancers we have ever seen. He kind taught the nation how to dance.”

Appreciating his hardwork, the actor shares, “We were shooting for Sher Khul Gaye and I was nervous practicing my moves in the studio. Then I saw Hrithik practicing up and down the stage where we were going to shoot relentlessly. To be where he is, one needs to have that kind of tenacity and mental stamina to just keep going. He has nothing left to prove yet he is constantly trying to prove something which is insane. Most of us will never reach his level of stardom, but I tried to work hard and look good with him.”

He added, “Working with him was definitely like a life coming full circle. I think every working actor has bit of Hrithik Roshan in them. All thanks to his guidance and influence for the indelible mark he has left in our hearts and minds. I think he is everyone’s mentor whether he has worked with them or not. All the young working actors would put him on that pedestal.”

When prodded about a fond memory with the Greek God, Akshay remembers, “It was a difficult day for me on set one day where a line was thrown at me and it was a difficult one. We had less time to shoot it. It took me couple of takes to get it right and I did it. That night, Hrithik texted and applauded me which shows he was paying attention and cares about other people in the scene. He knows how difficult the work is and celebrates others success. So there is so much to learn from him.”

On the work front, Oberoi will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra among others.
