This Diwali saw the release of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma and Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Both films had a solid start at the box office despite the clash and continue to perform well in theatres. Actor Harshvardhan Rane has been visiting theatres across different cities to gauge audience reactions and interact with fans. During a visit to a theatre in Gujarat, the actor, along with co-star Sonam Bajwa, thanked audiences for the love showered on their film.

After the screening, Rane expressed gratitude to the audience in the house-full cinema hall. He also addressed the ongoing debate on nepotism in Bollywood, thanking moviegoers for supporting films of outsiders released during the festive season. He said, “This Diwali, you supported the films of two outsiders. Ayushmann Khurrana’s film released along with mine. Watch both the films, please, and enjoy both. This sends a good message that aap logon ne akele poora Bollywood se nepotism hi khatam kar diya (you people alone have wiped out nepotism from Bollywood).”

Ayushmann Khurrana's horror comedy has also registered great numbers at the box office collecting Rs 50 crore in just three days.

Rane also urged audiences to revisit the film with family members who haven’t watched it yet, saying, “I hope you liked it. And those in your family who haven’t watched it, please come again with them.”

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat box office

Milap Zaveri’s directorial, made on a small budget, has been performing impressively since its release in theatres on October 21. Despite having fewer screens than Thamma, the film earned Rs 10.10 crore on its opening day, Rs 8.7 crore on day two, Rs 7.10 crore on Thursday, Rs 5.5 crore on Friday, and Rs 5.75 crore on Saturday — maintaining steady momentum after the festive weekend.

Directed by Milap Zaveri, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a romantic drama exploring themes of obsession, love, and sacrifice. The film stars Harshvardhan Rane as a passionate lover and Sonam Bajwa as the woman who changes his life. Set against picturesque backdrops and powered by a soulful soundtrack, the movie primarily appeals to younger audiences.
