Back in April, mid-day had reported that filmmaker Boney Kapoor was set to collaborate with his younger daughter Khushi Kapoor on a sequel to Sridevi’s 2017 acclaimed film Mom (Taking on mom’s legacy, April 11). The buzz is that the film went on floors in Mumbai shortly after Diwali, with around 10 days of shooting completed. On Khushi’s 25th birthday (November 5), a few pictures from the set surfaced online, showing her in a casual look alongside actor Karishma Tanna. Mom 2 is said to feature Khushi in a key role. We have learnt that Girish Kohli, who co-wrote and scripted Mom, is helming the sequel as he “understands the world of Mom best”. The buzz is that the film’s official announcement is expected around Boney’s 70th birthday on November 11.

Finding peace in speed in Dubai

Ajith KumarAjith Kumar

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar has opened up about his decision to move from Chennai to Dubai, revealing that the shift was driven by his desire for solitude and focus on his passion for motorsports. “I moved to Dubai to stay away from all the noise,” the 54-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter India. “I’m primarily here for motorsports since most major circuits are based here. I’m having to do everything by myself, and I’m loving it.” Once surrounded by an entourage, Ajith now prefers simplicity. “The more people you have around you, the more things you have to deal with,” he said, adding that his middle-class upbringing taught him self-sufficiency. Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. He will be seen in Vidaamuyarchi, scheduled to release next year. He also has AK 64, in his kitty, for which filming is set to begin this month.
