Apart from their families, close friends from and outside the industry will be joining the revelry of the big fat Punjabi wedding.

The celebration begins
Like we have been saying, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are set to tie the knot. The wedding ceremonies kicked started yesterday at Hotel Suryagarh in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Apart from their families, close friends from and outside the industry will be joining the revelry of the big fat Punjabi wedding. We hear the bride and groom will be performing at their sangeet ceremony. The playlist for the festivities include Kala chashma, Bijlee, Rangisaari, Disco deewane, Nachne de saare, among several others. Sources inform that Kiara and Sid will be grooving to Raatan lambiyaan, the soulful romantic number from their film together, Shershaah, during the shooting of which, they fell in love with each other. Karan Johar, who is like a mentor to both, and Manish Malhotra, who has designed the duo’s outfits for special occasion, are expected to attend all the festivities. Varun Dhawan, Shahid and Mira Kapoor, producer Ashwini Yardi are also said to be flying to Jaisalmer for the shaadi. Celebrity mehendi designer Veena Nagda reached in the venue on Friday evening. Will he, won’t he?
Almost three decades after Rajkumar Santoshi’s cult comedy Andaaz Apna Apna released, we hear that Aamir Khan and Salman Khan may reunite. But, not as co-actors. Aamir, who has opted out of acting in his next production venture Champions, feels Salman is the perfect actor to lead it and has offered the role to him. Salman is currently prepping for the release of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which is set for an Eid release. He also has Tiger 3 arriving in Diwali. Given that Aamir has been closely involved in director RS Prasanna’s adaptation of the Spanish film, Campeones, there couldn’t be a better project for Salman to follow up after Tiger 3. Guess time will tell.
She will be missed
The passing of popular singer Vani Jayaram has come as a shock to the Malayalam film industry. She sang more than 600 songs in a career that took off in 1973.
Vani, as she was popularly known, made her Malayalam debut in 1973 by recording the solo song Sourayudhathil vidarnnoru composed by Salil Chowdhary for the film Swapnam. Some of her best works came out when she collaborated with Arjunan and Sreekumaran Thampi. The title song Marathe marikurumbe of the film Puli Murugan was listed among the 70 songs that were considered eligible for Oscar nominations in 2018 under the Original Song category.
Malayalam singer Sujatha said, “We would regularly interact and meet. After her husband passed away, she became a loner as they were deeply attached to one another. Her talent cannot be expressed in words.”
Varun in Atlee’s next
South director Atlee, who is making his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, is in the throes of planning his next Hindi film. Currently filming with SRK in Mumbai, the filmmaker will revisit his second directorial venture, Theri (2016). We hear Varun Dhawan will be stepping into the shoes of Thalapathy Vijay. Atlee and Varun have reportedly been in talks for a long time. Sources claim that Varun has given his verbal nod to the adaptation of the action thriller. An official announcement is expected soon.
Shooting in full swing
After much speculation, director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second film with Thalapathy Vijay has finally been officially announced. The makers shared the update of the much-anticipated actioner with the promo, titled, Leo: Bloody Sweet. The film marks the Tamil debut of Sanjay Dutt, as the antagonist. The team headed to Kashmir on Friday for a major shooting schedule.
