Veteran actor Dharmendra, who has been struggling with his health, was recently discharged from the hospital. The actor is now recovering at home. As his health continues to improve, the family is reportedly planning to celebrate his 90th birthday next month.
Hema Malini and family plan to celebrate Dharmendra's 90th birthday
Anil Sharma spoke about Dharmendra, “He is doing much better than before. Please pray for him. God willingly, we will celebrate his birthday on December 8, with much fanfare.” Anil Sharma said on the stage of the Jagran Film Festival finale night.
For the uninitiated, Dharmendra will be turning 90 on December 8. Meanwhile, his daughter, Esha Deol, turned a year older on November 2, however, she did not celebrate her birthday since she is waiting for her father’s recovery.
Dharmendra had been admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated. After spending several days receiving treatment, he was discharged on November 12. During his hospital stay, false rumours about his death had circulated widely. Following the rumours, his wife, actor Hema Malini, and daughter Esha Deol issued a public statement on November 11 clarifying that he was alive and recovering.
Dharmendra discharged
Following his discharge at 7:30 am on Tuesday, the Deol family had issued an official statement urging fans and media for privacy. They also thanked well-wishers for their support. The statement read, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you."
Following the discharge, Dharmendra’s wife and actor-MP Hema Malini told Rediff that the last few days had been extremely challenging; however, she is grateful to have him home again. She said, “It has not been an easy time for me. I am happy Dharamji is back home.”
Hema Malini, who has two daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol, with Dharmendra, revealed that the entire family, including Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol from Dharmendra’s first marriage, are worried. She said, “Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless. I can’t afford to be weak—there are too many responsibilities."
