The incident took place at around 3:30 pm at Chandigarh airport when Kangana was about to board a flight to Delhi. As visuals of Kangana from the airport surfaced on social media, a section of netizens pointed out her bruised cheek.  One user wrote, "Chehre ka naksha thoda bigda hua lag raha hai." "I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident took place during the security check. After I was done with the security check, a woman constable of the CISF waited for me to pass through the cabin. Later, she came from the side, hit me in the face, and started abusing me", Ranaut said in a post on 'X'. "When I asked her why she did this, she told me that she (CISF official) had supported the farmers' protest. My (Kangana) question is how we end growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab", the BJP leader added. Meanwhile, the CISF constable said that her mother was among the farmers holding a sit-in protest against the farm laws, which now have been repealed. "She stated that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement..." she said. The 15-month-long farmers' protest was held against the farm laws (now repealed) including other issues. Sanjay Kapoor

Sanjay Kapoor on the benefits of OTT platforms: This kind of reach...

In the tangled web of ZEE5’s upcoming movie, House of Lies, deception knows no bounds. Produced by Kali Movies Private Limited and Sebhariya Pictures, and directed by Saumitra Singh, this gripping thriller will premiere on ZEE5 on 31st May as part of its free-to-stream library.  Starring Sanjay Kapoor, Ssmilley Suri, Simran Kaur Suri, Hiten Paintal and the late actor Rituraj K Singh among others, House of Lies is an intriguing murder mystery that unravels the suspicious death of Albert Pinto, the morning after his birthday party. Investigators Rajveer Singh Choudhary and Abhay along with officer Sashi from Enforcement Directorate interrogate the guests - Albert's wife Ragini, brother Anthony, sister-in-law Aastha, lawyer Karan Sinha, doctor Fernandis, friend Col. Verma, and house help Zaid and try to uncover the many layers of complexities. With conflicting statements from all witnesses, officer Rajveer and Sashi's old rivalry adding friction and betrayal, greed and malice at the centre of it all, the investigation grows complex as motives of the suspects start to emerge and entangle the case further. Talking about the USP of the film, actor Sanjay Kapoor says, "One of the USP is you have to watch this film for the late Rituraj Ji who is an extremely warm and talented actor." Further, the actor was asked about the role of OTT in changing his career and introducing Hindi content to a wider and diverse audience. "OTT connects with a larger audience, not only in India but internationally also. There are so many places where a movie doesn't even release in the theater, but on OTT, you can watch it. It's there like a library, once it comes on the platform, if it's a good film, you will take out time and finally watch it. That's how it reaches to a broader audience as the release is worldwide. Anybody can see any film, sitting anywhere and they just need to have the subscription to the platform, and they can see it. This kind of reach, even cinemas don't have. Obviously, cinema is great, it's larger than life and it's a big screen entertainment. The biggest difference here is, you watch it by yourself or maybe with another family member or two but “Theater ka apna maza hai kyunki aap poori audience ke saath picture dekhte ho, So, you react with the audience.” There are pros and cons to it, but OTT has definitely us a larger audience." Talking about the film, director Saumitra Singh said, “As an ardent admirer of the murder mystery genre, from the mind-bending classics by Agatha Christie to edgy modern noir thrillers, I have always been captivated by their ability to challenge and thrill audiences. Bringing ‘House of Lies’ to life in collaboration with ZEE5 and my writer, Abhiraj Sharma has truly been a dream project, allowing me to craft a twisted psychological ride that will keep viewers guessing until the end. We have meticulously crafted each character as a deliciously layered and deceitful puzzle piece, brought to life by an extraordinarily talented ensemble cast. This flick is a delirious descent into the darkest depths of human nature that will have you clinging to the edge of your seat. From start to finish, I can guarantee that viewers will be utterly transfixed, unable to take their eyes off the screen as the shocking truths are revealed."

Step inside Jaaved Jaaferi’s 7000-square-feet sea-facing Mumbai home in Bandra

Veteran actor Jaaved Jaaferi opened the doors to his plush Mumbai home that spreads across 7000 square feet and comes with a charismatic sea view. Located in Bandra, the apartment has been described as a Mediterranian oasis of memories. It gives out a soothing vibe with eggshell walls and minimalist furniture that adds warmth to this family home the actor shares with his children Meezaan and Alaviaa. Jaaved told Architectural Digest India, “I’ve been a Bandra boy all my life; I was here for 40 years. I lived in my first home, where I was born, for 15 years, and then a few years at my second home, before moving to a house with my children in Lokhandwala. Earlier my problem with Bandra was that, with the amount of construction everywhere, buildings are situated amusingly close together where you can open the door and ask for a cup of sugar. But when I saw this place I just fell in love’’. Check out the pictures below.            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Architectural Digest India (@archdigestindia) Jaaved Jaaferi became a household name during the 90s and dons many hats from being a comedian, dancer, and voice-over artist, he has aced in all fields. His Bollywood credits include 'Salaam Namaste', 'Ta Ra Rum Pum', 'Dhamaal', and 'Singh Is Kinng'.  Before the shows like Bigg Boss took over our television screens, 'Boogie Woogie' was the first dance reality TV show in India. Whenever the show's name is taken, what strikes our mind is Jaaved Jaaferi's commentary on the show. He used to guide the young and inspiring dancers as a good teacher does, and you would desire to have a mentor like him in your life. Jaaferi was not only a judge on the reality dance competition series, but also one of its creators, helping it grow into the longest-running show of its kind. At the turn of 2000, the voice that came to be associated with numerous animated characters tickled our funny bones like no other. His commentary on the Japanese television show 'Takeshi's Castle' quickly gained popularity among both young adults and adults, and became an instant hit. (With inputs from ANI)

'Ramayan' actor Sunil Lahiri lashes out at UP voters after election results

Actor Sunil Lahiri, known for portraying the role of Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan' has expressed his disappointment at the Lok Sabha Election results 2024. He expressed disappointment at BJP not securing a single-party majority this election term. The BJP secured 240 seats and will have to form a coalition government with JDU and TDP.  After the election results were announced, Sunil Lahiri took to Instagram to share a video with a message to his followers. He also questioned whether the BJP's coalition government with its NDA partners could complete its full term without difficulties. "I am very disappointed to see the election results. Firstly, the voting was very low and then this result. I constantly urged people to vote but no one paid heed. Now, a coalition government will be formed.  But will this government be able to run smoothly for five years? That is something to think about," he said. One of the biggest shockers for BJP was losing out the seat at Faizabad where Ayodhya is located. Earlier this year the Ram mandir was inaugurated in the city and was one of the biggest promises made by the ruling party. However, the results were not in favour of BJP as Samajwadi Party's Akshaya Yadav won by over 89,000 votes, defeating BJP candidate Vishwadeep Singh.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Sunil Lahri (@sunil_lahri) "We have forgotten that residents of Ayodhya had questioned the virtue of Sita after she returned from exile. Even if God himself would appear in front of them, they would reject him. Ayodhya has always betrayed its true king," one of the posts by Sunil on Instagram read.  "I salute the greatness of Ayodhya residents. You didn't even spare Mata Sita, so how could you not betray the ones who took Ram out of a tent and enthroned him in a grand temple? India will never view you kindly," another post read. However, he went on to praise the win of Kangana and Arun Govil as they made their debut in politics. Arun Govil had essayed the role of Lord Ram in Ramayan. "First, Kangana Ranaut, who is the symbol of women empowerment, has won the Mandi seat and secondly, Arun Govil, my elder brother, has won from Meerut. I congratulate both of them," he said.

Sonu Nigam clarifies he is not on X after post on Ayodhya goes viral

Playback singer Sonu Nigam, who is known for making headlines for his controversial remarks found himself in a messy social media encounter after an imposter with a verified account in his name on X posted about the Bharatiya Janata Party losing in Ayodhya during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, despite building the Ram Temple.  The post on X made by a handle with the name Sonu Nigam Singh read, “The government which beautified the whole of Ayodhya, gave a new airport, railway station, built the Ram temple after 500 years, created an entire temple economy, that party has to struggle for the Ayodhya seat. People of Ayodhya are ashamed!” — Sonu Nigam (@SonuNigamSingh) June 4, 2024 Sonu clarified to Hindustan Times that he is not on X. He said, “I wonder how people, including the news channels that mistook him for me, didn’t do their basic sanity check by reading the description of the account. His handle says Sonu Nigam Singh and the description says that he’s a criminal lawyer from Bihar. This is the kind of nastiness that forced me to quit Twitter seven years ago. I don’t believe in making sensational political remarks and I only focus on my work. But yeh incident alarming hai, not just for me, but also my family’s safety.” He added, “This user has been doing this for a while. I’m often inundated with screenshots of his tweets from my well-wishers. My team reached out to him and insisted he fixed his handle name and stopped pretending to be me, as millions of people are being mislead by the use of my surname. I’m sure we will find a way to fix this.” Sonu Nigam had also performed 'Ram Siya Ram' ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony that was held in January this year. The singer got emotional and expressed his feelings. He he told ANI, "Abhi kuch bolne ko hai nahi, bas yahi (tears) bolne ko hai." BJP candidate Lallu Singh lost to Samajwadi Party's Awadesh Prasad in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad constituency. Top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought up the Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha ceremony in their campaign speeches and assailed the Opposition leaders for not attending it. They alleged that the Opposition leaders did not attend the ceremony because of their appeasement politics.
