Pratik Gandhi’s ascent to fame wasn’t overnight and his journey defies the conventional Bollywood narrative. Before captivating audiences as Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992, he was an industrial engineer juggling a full-time job and late-night rehearsals. However, did you know the actor did odd jobs like cleaning water tanks to earn a living in Mumbai? He recently opened up about his struggling phase while appearing on Kapil Sharma’s show.
Pratik Gandhi on doing odd jobs
Pratik was a part of fourth episode of Kapil Sharma’s show along with Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Verma and Jitendra. The actors shared anecdote from their struggling days and how weird fan encounters bewildered them. When Kapil asked the actors about doing odd jobs for their living, the Dhoom Dhaam actor shared, "I've done many such odd jobs. When I was younger, I used to distribute gifts, help at events, and many more things. When I came to Mumbai, I decided to get into the water tanker cleaning business, and for that, I hired 2-3 people who would go and do the job. However, there were times they wouldn't show up, and I would have to do it myself. We wouldn't do it manually; we had a machine that helped us complete the task."

Jaideep Ahlawat’s proposal story
During the interaction, Kapil also asked actor’s about their love story. However, the Jewel Thief actor had an interesting anecdote to share. Kapil asked if his wife found his proposal genuine or thought he was just acting really well. Speaking about the same, Jaideep quipped, “Do you think a Jaat boy like me would know the art of proposing?” Vijay Varma chimed in and joked, “I think he would have taken a ghee carton to her to propose.” Jaideep Ahlawat agreed with Vijay Varma and said, “Yeah that’s pretty close. I told her, ‘There won’t be any shortage of milk and ghee in the house. Now the choice is yours.’"
Talking about actor’s work front, Pratik will next be seen in biographical drama Gandhi, chronicling the most important chapters of the freedom fighter’s life. He also has Baaghi Bechare with Faisal Malik and Abhishek Banerjee.
