Priyadarshan shared positive experiences working with Salman Khan and Akshaye Khanna, dismissing claims that they are difficult. He said understanding personalities is key, ahead of his film Bhooth Bangla

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has been part of the film industry for a long time and is now preparing to begin work on his 100th film, which will star Mohanlal in the lead. Over the years, he has worked with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Ahead of the release of his next film Bhooth Bangla, featuring Akshay Kumar, the filmmaker spoke about his experience working with actors like Salman Khan and Akshaye Khanna, who are often perceived as difficult to work with.

In an interview with India Today, Priyadarshan spoke about working with Salman Khan in Kyon...Ki. “Salman Khan loves me,” he said, recalling their recent meeting. “He told me, ‘Garu, next time we work together, I’ll come at 1 am instead of 10 pm,’” he added with a laugh. Talking about their time shooting in Romania, the director said, “He was very sweet to me.”

Similarly, Priyadarshan said that he never faced any problems with Akshaye Khanna when they worked together on films like Hungama and Hulchul. Khanna has recently been earning praise for his performance in Dhurandhar. However, there have also been reports of him being difficult to work with, which intensified after he reportedly walked out of Drishyam 3 over demands on set, including increased remuneration.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, it’s difficult to work with him.’ I never found it difficult. Thank God,” Priyadarshan said. “You accept a person as what he is and deal with him. There’s no problem,” he added.

The filmmaker is now gearing up for Bhooth Bangla, which marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after many years. The film also stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veteran actor Asrani in key roles.
The film is expected to bring back Priyadarshan’s signature blend of comedy and chaos and is slated for release on April 10, 2026.However, some reports suggest that the makers are planning on releasing the film on April 17 as Dhurandhar 2 is currently dominating theatres. The makers are yet to make an official announcement on the same.
