Actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, have been at the centre of several controversies over the years. The couple is now grabbing headlines after a lookout notice was issued to them in Rs 60 crore fraud case. During the probe, Raj claimed a part of money was paid as fees to Neha Dhupia and Bipasha. According to the latest development, the EOW is planning to send notices to the actresses along with Balaji Entertainment’s founder, Ekta Kapoor. This comes after investigators tracked direct transfers worth nearly Rs 25 crore to accounts linked with Shilpa, Bipasha, Neha, and Balaji Entertainment.

As per NDTV, a source told, “We will also ask them how the money was disbursed. Letters will soon be sent to them.” The report further mentioned that the investigating agency believes that Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd paid many celebrities to promote the brand. The investigation will include identifying the payment procedure and examining if any irregularities occurred. The source added, “The company's funds were allegedly misused, so every transaction is being scrutinised.”

The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has recently recorded Raj’s statement in connection with an alleged Rs. 60 crore fraud case. In a statement, Mumbai Police shared an update in the case and stated: “Investigations are going on against actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in an alleged fraud case of Rs. 60 crore. A summon was issued by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police to Raj Kundra. He was asked to appear before police for the investigation.” Additionally, they said that Raj Kundra will be summoned again by the Mumbai Police next week for the next round of interrogation.

About Raj Kundra’s case

For the unversed, businessman Deepak Kothari has alleged that Shilpa and Raj conspired to cheat him of more than 60 crores. He claimed that the money given in the name of business expansion between 2015 and 2023 was actually squandered on personal expenses. In another news, few days back Shilpa Shetty had announced closure of her restaurant Bastian which is located in Bandra area.

The claim came during his statement to the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is probing the case. According to sources, Kundra claimed that a portion of the money in question was paid as fees to Bipasha and Neha. However, during the five-hour-long interrogation, he reportedly remained silent on several crucial points, prompting the EOW to plan further rounds of questioning.
