Randeep Hooda’s love for horse riding is well-known. Now, the actor has extended his passion to another sport — archery. Hooda and his wife Lin Laishram have become the co-owners of the archery team Prithviraj Yodhas, which is one of the six franchises competing in the inaugural Archery Premier League (APL). The 10-day league kicked off on October 2 in New Delhi.
Co-owning an archery team is a fitting next step for Laishram, who has been associated with the sport since her childhood. Her first brush with the sport happened when she was 10 years old, after which she went on to win the Junior National Championship in 1998. Unfortunately, an injury forced her to step away from competitive archery. “Even though I had to leave competitive archery early, my love for the sport never went away. Now, to come back as a team owner and support young archers is a dream come true,” she said, adding that the sport taught her discipline, patience, and perseverance.
For Hooda, owning a team with Laishram is special. He hopes the league will give a platform to young archers. “We want to support talented athletes and bring archery closer to audiences across India. Leagues help expose young talent to international players, creating a larger talent pool to represent India internationally.”
