RGV to be a narrator of Rakta Charitra's Telugu version

After donning multiple roles of a writer, producer and director Ram Gopal Varma is now set to showcase his versatility. He is lending his voice to the Telugu version of his upcoming trilingual Rakta Charitra.

Rakta Charitra has been shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu and all three require a narrator who introduces and describes the characters, tells the story and keeps up the flow.



RGV says, "I tried six people to narrate the proceedings for the Telugu version but somehow no one could do it well, or portray the exact emotions I wanted conveyed. Finally I did it myself."

No stress
The director says he wasn't nervous about his new role of a voice-over artiste. "I did it in one day and with feeling, as I feel strongly about the story. I was confident about what I wanted to portray so the question of being nervous doesn't arise. I realised that no one could do it better than me. That's why I did it."

Ramu says that while he played the narrator in the Telegu version, he hasn't yet decided who will do it for the Hindi and Tamil versions. "I can't speak in Hindi and Tamil. I did it for the Telegu version as it's my mother tongue."

What's next for Ramu? He laughs, "The only thing which remains is acting and I am reaching there, but I haven't become that mad as to consider it yet!"

Rakta Charitra stars Shatrughan Sinha, Vivek Oberoi, Priyamani and Surya. The film is said to depict the life of the slain political leader Paritala Ravindra, played by Vivek, with Surya enacting the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri.
