Salman Khan helped diehard fan, Saurav Kumar, buy an oxygen cylinder for his father, Manoj Kumar Sinha, who is battling Covid-19. It was facilitated by one of the superstar’s fan clubs. Mohit Kala from Salman Ki Sena says, “Saurav contacted me on social media. We help not just Bhai’s fans, but anybody who reaches out to us, including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers. Fan war is for fun, but if someone needs help, you have to keep your differences aside.”

Earlier, Khan tweeted, “So good to have fan clubs like these who are doing so much good work on their own.” From tasting what goes in food kits for frontline warriors (above) to looking into fan’s requests, along with Yuva Sena’s Rahul Kanal, Sallu has been adding a personal touch to the relief efforts.

Salman Khan has been personally overseeing the distribution of meals to the frontline workers. The superstar’s Being Hangryy trucks have been providing food kits since the junta curfew was announced in the state. Earlier, Khan visited the special kitchen set up at a Bandra restaurant where the food is prepared and packed. He was keen to check the quality and freshness, and ensure the smooth functioning of the distribution chain. In the second wave of Covid-19, the Being Hangryy trucks are distributing meals among the frontline workers. Yuva Sena leader Rahul Kanal, who is coordinating the endeavour with the actor, told mid-day that the superstar sprang into action as soon as the state government imposed a junta curfew from April 15. “Salman expressed his concern for the police officers, BMC staff and health workers on duty. Given their long work hours, he wondered how they would procure essentials since most shops are shut and the grocery stores are functioning in the stipulated four-hour window. Within 24 hours of our conversation, our food trucks hit the road,” said Kanal.
