Although Sonakshi removed the story, screenshots of her post soon surfaced on social media. Sharing a picture of the airport runway, she wrote, “Absolutely HATE you airindia. Been at the airport since 4 am to catch a 5 am flight which has been pushed to 11 am hour by hour for NO DAMN REASON. National carrier it seems. Do better.”

She soon deleted the post.

When Anoushka Shankar slammed Indian airlines

Earlier this month, sitarist Anoushka Shankar also criticised Air India over its baggage handling after she received her sitar in a damaged condition. The musician said she had flown with her instrument for years without any issues, making the experience deeply disturbing.

Taking to Instagram, Anoushka shared a video explaining the damage to her sitar and expressed shock at the airline’s handling despite charging a special fee. In her caption, she wrote that she was devastated by the treatment of her instrument, adding that it was especially painful since she was flying an Indian airline with an Indian classical instrument for the first time in a long while.

When Sonakshi addresses online harassment against film industry

Recently, Sonakshi spoke out against the growing culture of online harassment targeting members of the film industry, calling the trend disturbing and alarmingly normalised. Addressing the issue at an event in Mumbai, the actor highlighted how unchecked online abuse affects not just performers but also film critics and others who voice opinions.

In the video from the event, she said, “Jo cheez jisse mujhe aur dikkat hai (the thing that troubled me) is this open attack on people online.”

“Jo sabke saath hota hai, actors ke saath bhi hota hai, abhi toh critics ke saath hai (It happens with everyone from actors to critics),” she added, highlighting that dissent is being met with aggressive online backlash.

Calling for collective action, the Dabangg actor said, “I think that is something that we should all work towards putting an end to and try to figure a solution to that.. Ke koi bhi kahin bhi baithkar aapko kuch bhi bol rahe hai and there is not much people can do about it (that anyone from any part of the world can say anything to you and you can’t do anything about it).”
