Aparshakti Khurana wants to star in a Lucky Ali biopic

Aparshakti Khurana is an actor who has refused to be boxed into a type ever since he stepped into Bollywood. Khurana put forth a promising foot with Dangal in 2016, and ever since then, he has recorded an illustrious decade in Indian cinema. From Stree to Jubilee, Luka Chuppi to Berlin, Aparshakti has shown range. Now, the actor looked back at his journey so far, reflecting on his evolution, film choices and expressing the desire to work in biopics. Aparshakti Khurana on his acting evolution Speaking about his evolution as an actor, Aparshakti humbly stated that his evolution is not for him to decide. He shared, “Whether I’ve evolved as an actor or not is for others to decide - the audience, my colleagues, and the outside world.” Reinvention has been the key for Khurana, and speaking about the same, he shared, “Personally, I’m satisfied with my journey so far. Touchwood, I’ve done a variety of films and characters, and that’s always been my approach - to explore different creative sides of myself. Not just acting, but even music and hosting give me a different kind of kick.” He added, “As for being selective, I somehow manage to make time for the things I truly want to do. And till now, I haven’t regretted saying no to any project that later became big.” Aparshakti Khurana on his dream project The actor acknowledged that there’s going to be a long list to collaborate with renowned directors and production houses, however, he does not let himself in the loop. “There’s always going to be a long wish list, big directors, big production houses, great roles—but that list never really ends. So I don’t dwell on it,” he said. Over the years, Aparshakti has headlined films and OTT shows across genres. And the actor is keen on doing more sports and musical biopics. “If I had to choose, I would love to do a sports biopic or maybe a musician’s biopic. Both are very close to my heart and bring out the best in me. For example, someone like Fauja Singh really inspires me; he was running marathons even at the age of 100+. Stories like his truly move me. Maybe even a musician’s biopic, someone like Lucky Ali. Let’s see what happens in the future.” And now that the actor has expressed a desire to work on a sports and a musical biopic, it’d be safe to say that he could mark a significant tangent in his film career while picking unconventionality yet again, and putting on his layered acting skills on display all over again!

Sitaare Zameen Par

Sitaare Zameen Par: Aamir Khan says he always wanted to release film on OTT

When Sitaare Zameen Par was initially released in August 2025, it was announced that the film would not be available on streaming platforms, even after its theatrical release. Now, as the film is set to launch on OTT, Aamir Khan recently said that releasing his film on OTT was always part of the strategy. He clarified that while the digital release was planned, he did not want it to happen immediately after the theatrical run. Aamir Khan always wanted an OTT release for Sitaare Zameen Par Speaking to PTI, Aamir said, "I was never in two minds. I always wanted an OTT release, but not so quickly after the theatre release. So it is now coming on SonyLIV on April 3, and I want audiences all across the country to enjoy the film. Those who have not had a chance to see it in theatres can now watch it on SonyLIV." Aamir revealed that in addition to the feature film, the streaming platform will also release a documentary titled Sitaaron Ke Sitaare. The documentary brings the spotlight to the real-life parents of the neurodivergent actors who starred in the film. Explaining the idea behind the documentary, Aamir shared, "It's a very special piece of content because it looks at the real superstars. The Sitaare are the superstars, but the real-life superstars are the parents of these 10 artists who have raised them and taken care of them. So that film really highlights the fact that the parents are the real superstars." Sitaare Zameen Par OTT release A few days ago, Aamir Khan's production house confirmed that Sitaare Zameen Par, which had earlier skipped an OTT release, will soon begin streaming on SonyLIV. Apart from Aamir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia Deshmukh in a pivotal role. The film features 10 debutant neurodivergent actors, namely, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharma, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar and Aayush Bhansali. The 2025 film is believed to be a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. It earned Rs 265 crore worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing films of last year.

Following a triumphant global festival run, the official first glimpse of the highly anticipated drama, Mercy, will be released on 27th March in the theatres exclusively with the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Navigating the sensitive subject of passive euthanasia, the film offers a deeply moving exploration of compassion, duty, and the blurred lines of legal morality, standing out as a heartfelt drama centred on the emotional limits of a family facing life’s final chapters. The narrative arrives at a time when the national conversation around end-of-life dignity has been reignited, following the recent case of Harish Rana, who had been in a vegetative state for over 13 years and became the first individual permitted passive euthanasia by the Supreme Court of India, mirroring the film’s exploration of deeply complex moral and legal realities. Mercy is set to release in theatres on 24th April. Actors Raj Vasudeva and Adil Hussain talk about Mercy Actor Raj Vasudeva said, "Bringing Mercy to the big screen feels like the culmination of a deeply personal journey. This film is incredibly close to my heart because it explores the quiet, often ignored strength of a family in crisis. While I am profoundly moved by the immense appreciation we’ve received, the real reward is seeing how Shekhar’s story has touched hearts everywhere. I am filled with excitement to finally share this labour of love with the audience." Actor Adil Hussain shared his sentiments. "For me, Mercy is more than just a cinematic project; it is a significant reflection on the human condition and the dignity we all deserve. Watching the film gather such immense gratitude and appreciation has been heartening. It proves that stories told with such raw honesty have a universal language. As we approach our theatrical release, my sentiment is one of pure anticipation for the audience to experience this journey," he said Director Mitul Patel added, "As a filmmaker, telling a story like Mercy felt like a soul-deep responsibility. To have our vision embraced on so many prestigious global platforms is overwhelming, but the true importance of this film lies in its message of compassion and 'letting go.' The journey from the international circuit to a nationwide release on April 24 has been a whirlwind of emotions, and I am eager to see how it resonates at home." Mercy's journey at film festivals The film has carved out an extraordinary reputation on the global circuit, amassing accolades and standing as a heavyweight in contemporary meaningful cinema. Akshay Oberoi talks about being part of Toxic and King

Actor Akshay Oberoi, who has three anticipated projects of 2026 - Toxic, King, and Neeraj Pandey's production - said that if he were asked two years ago whether he’d imagined a time like this, he would’ve honestly said no.  Akshay, who began experiencing a strong career shift with Fighter, believes this phase is a culmination of years of perseverance, patience, and belief in the craft. Akshay says, “If you had asked me even two years ago whether I imagined a time like this, I would have honestly said no. This industry teaches you humility every single day. I’ve been here for a long time, doing my work quietly, trusting the process, sometimes doubting myself, but never giving up.” “To suddenly be in a space where I’m part of two films and one series where people are genuinely excited about Toxic, King and Neeraj Pandey's next, it’s overwhelming in the best way possible,” said the actor. Somewhere, Akshay feels like life has come full circle. “Fighter became a turning point for me, not just professionally, but emotionally. It reminded me why I chose this path in the first place.” “From there to Toxic, then King, and now working with someone like Neeraj Pandey, these are the moments you silently hope for as an actor, but never take for granted. I genuinely feel like I’m finally getting my due, not overnight, but after years of learning, unlearning, waiting, and growing.” Akshay further reflects on the journey that shaped him, “There were phases where nothing seemed to move, where you question your choices. But I think those years prepare you for moments like this. Today, I feel grateful for the opportunities, for the faith filmmakers have shown in me, and for the audience that has slowly but surely embraced my work.” “This phase is very emotional for me because it validates the journey, the struggle, and the belief that good work eventually finds its moment.” This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies.
