The streaming platform Netflix has been in the news for its acquisition of Warner Bros. Amid this, the platform sent a letter to all its 301 million subscribers assuring them that nothing is changing. Netflix sends letter to Warner Bros The OTT giant emailed its 301.6 million global subscribers, as of August 2025, titled: “Welcoming Warner Bros. to Netflix.” The letter read, "We’ve recently announced that Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO. This unites our leading entertainment service with Warner Bros.’ iconic stories, bringing some of the world’s most beloved franchises like Harry Potter, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Casablanca, Game of Thrones and the DC Universe together with Stranger Things, Wednesday, Squid Game, Bridgerton and KPop Demon Hunters." They also assured their subscribers that nothing will change, "Both streaming services will continue to operate separately. We have more steps to complete before the deal is closed, including regulatory and shareholder approvals. You’ll hear from us when we have more to share. In the meantime, we hope you’ll continue to enjoy watching as much as you want, whenever you want – all on your current membership plan." The platform requested all subscribers to check out the Help Center if they have further queries regarding the merger. On Friday, Netflix struck a deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, the Hollywood giant behind Harry Potter and HBO Max. The cash and stock deal is valued at USD 27.75 per Warner share, giving it a total enterprise value of USD 82.7 billion, including debt. The transaction is expected to close in the next 12 to 18 months, after Warner completes the previously announced separation of its cable operations. Not included in the deal are networks such as CNN and Discovery. What US President Trump said about the merger US President Donald Trump addressed the Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros., praising Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos alongside Greg Peters, and noted that Netflix will have "a lot of market share, so we'll have to see what happens." "Well, that’s gotta go through a process, and we’ll see what happens," he said, as quoted by the White House. President Trump further said, "Netflix is a great company. They've done a phenomenal job. Ted is a fantastic man. I have a lot of respect for him. But it’s a lot of market share, so we'll have to see what happens.

09 December,2025 12:03 PM IST | Washington | ANIHollywood actor Michael B. Jordan has shared his favourite pop culture vampire. The actor recently attended the Gotham Awards in New York City, and revealed his favourite on-screen Vampire. The actor’s favourite Vampire flew into theaters in the mid-1990s. The actor referred to the film ‘Vampire in Brooklyn’, reports ‘People’ magazine. Jordan, 38, referred to Eddie Murphy’s character in the 1995 vampire horror comedy ‘Vampire in Brooklyn’. “The world’s last vampire is about to encounter something infinitely more terrifying than himself, Brooklyn”, the narrator says in the film’s trailer. As per ‘People’, Eddie Murphy, 64, plays the undead vampire alongside Angela Bassett’s Detective Rita Veder, whom the vampire wants to turn into his eternal lover. Thirty years after Murphy’s take on vampires, Jordan added his name to the list of cinematic vampires with his film ‘Sinners’, which is in contention for the Oscars. In Sinners, Jordan plays twins Elijah ‘Smoke’ Moore and Elias ‘Stack’ Moore as they defend their hometown against invading vampires. By the end of Sinners, which is set in the 1930s, one of the twins succumbs to a vampire bite and becomes a vampire himself. Sinners is available to stream on Max and is available for purchase on Prime Video, Fandango At Home and Apple TV. Michael B. Jordan gained early recognition with ‘Fruitvale Station’, followed by global acclaim as Adonis Creed in the ‘Creed’ franchise and Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’. Jordan is noted for his intense, athletic performances and his collaborations with director Ryan Coogler. Beyond acting, he made his directorial debut with ‘Creed III’. He has also been involved in producing projects through his company, Outlier Society, which champions inclusive storytelling and industry-wide diversity initiatives. 08 December,2025 10:24 PM IST | Los Angeles | IANSActor-producer Dakota Johnson has candidly revealed the challenges and rewards of her career, describing a "love-hate relationship" with acting and producing due to the "shady" side of the entertainment industry and the emotional battles she faces as a performer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Speaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival's "In Conversation With" series on Friday, Johnson reflected on her journey in Hollywood and her push to become a producer through her company TeaTime Pictures. "Financiers are really shady sometimes. It is heartbreaking. As a producer, it can be very heartbreaking. As an actress, it can be heartbreaking," she said, adding that despite the hurdles, both roles are "incredibly fulfilling." Johnson, the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, spoke at length about her difficulties with the darker side of Hollywood, something she has had to deal with more and more since she moved into producing and financing her projects. "Financiers are really shady sometimes. It is heartbreaking. As a producer, it can be very heartbreaking. As an actress, it can be heartbreaking," she said, before adding, "But then both [producing and acting] are so incredibly fulfilling, and I feel very grateful that I'm able to do both," as quoted by the outlet. She added that she found producing as more of a challenge than acting because "there's something about acting where I feel I'm in a bubble, and with producing you see behind the curtain, and it's really ugly." Adding that she both doesn't like that, but also loves it at the same time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her production house TeaTime Pictures, co-run with best friend Ro Donnelly, has backed films including Splitsville (2025), Daddio (2023), Am I OK? (2022), and Sundance-winning Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022). Johnson noted that the company focuses on "mostly female-driven, human experience projects," and is producing her directorial debut, A Tree Is Blue, starring Jessica Alba. Reflecting on her acting career, Johnson highlighted particularly meaningful projects, such as The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), working with Luca Guadagnino on A Bigger Splash (2015) and Suspiria (2018), and collaborating with Maggie Gyllenhaal on The Lost Daughter (2021). She described the experiences as deeply inspiring, praising her co-stars and directors for their guidance and emotional intelligence. Johnson also expressed admiration for the emerging Saudi film scene, calling the festival and its emphasis on female filmmakers from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia "inspiring" and crediting it with renewing her faith in cinema, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Taking to Instagram, Vin Diesel reflected on the moment and wrote, "The world saw me hand you a Lifetime Achievement Award this week. Your Wife, daughters and grandchildren watching. What they didn't see was everything else." Diesel opened up about how Michael Caine helped him to carry his fame and wrote, "When we first met, I was drowning in a fame I never learned to carry. You taught me grace. Resolve. How to stand in my light when I didn't know how." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) "Twelve years ago, I lost someone I was not ready to lose... that the world was not ready to lose. You were there... not with words, but with purpose. You allowed for me to play Kaulder. When mortality had its grip on my life, you brought immortality. The Last Witch Hunter wasn't just a film, It was my resurrection. Your wife lovely Shakira embraced mine, your family became my family. This summer, three years after retiring, you came back. The words you spoke in character transcended film... like a gift of wisdom," he added. The 'Fast & Furious' actor got emotional as he revealed when Caine introduced him as his "son" in the presence of Hollywood icons like Christopher Nolan, Sidney Poitier, and others. "We're just two kids from nothing, dreamers who became something. You said I speak to the world, but Michael... you speak to eternity. I love you. Forever," he concluded. At the fifth edition of Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Film Festival, Vin Diesel wheeled the British actor onto the red carpet, where they warmly posed for pictures. Vin Diesel and Michael Caine have worked together in the 2015 film 'The Last Witch Hunter'. As per Variety, the duo are likely to reunite on the big screen for the film's sequel, reprising their roles as Kaulder (Diesel) and Dolan (Caine). 08 December,2025 02:24 PM IST | Los Angeles | ANIHollywood stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn are delivering power-packed performances as complicated, volatile characters amid volatile political environments. In Luca Guadagnino’s ‘After the Hunt’, Julia Roberts plays Alma Imhoff, a Yale professor of philosophy who is forced to confront her own flaws and biases when a student accuses her colleague of assault, reports ‘Variety’. And in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’, Sean Penn’s Col. Steven J. Lockjaw plunges the lives of a father and daughter into chaos as he undertakes a mission of revenge against political dissidents. As per ‘Variety’, the actors, who are longtime friends and neighbors, spoke about their work and careers before heading to dinner. When Julia asked, “How many years do you think we’ve known each other? I think I know the answer”, her co-actor said, “I’m thinking back to New York, the Mayflower Hotel during the shooting of ‘The Pope of Greenwich Village’”. During the conversation, the actress spoke about Luca Guadagnino, Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri, who are her co-stars in ‘After the Hunt’. She said, “Luca and Andrew (Garfield), Ayo (Edebiri) and Chloe (Sevigny) came to our house and sat for days and days at our kitchen table, and we had all these conversations. Really bright people do not jockey for their position. They share their ideas and their feelings and then they listen intently. It’s the listening that I feel we’ve gotten the farthest from in culture, because conversations get so intense so quickly, and you’re just waiting for that break so that you can say, ‘OK, but this is why I’m right. This is why what I believe is better’. It was so nice to have the time and to be with truly bright people, and hearing what everybody had to say. We didn’t necessarily tell all our characters’ secrets. But it was just a great playground of thought”. Sean Penn opined that shame is underrated these days, as he said, “‘Not everything is supposed to make you comfortable’, I just wanted to go, ‘Thank God somebody’s saying this’”. “We’re in this time of a lot of talk therapy, a lot of what I’d call the trauma industry. I think shame is underrated these days. It’s got a bad name this decade. Why shouldn’t people be ashamed of things? Hold on to it for a while and reenter with some more humility”, he added. 06 December,2025 10:31 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentGrammy-winner Miley Cyrus has quipped that her engagement ring from fiancé Maxx Morando was a "Black Friday deal" after he proposed during their recent trip to Japan. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host suggested Maxx should have waited until Christmas to pop the question, telling Cyrus: "Your fiancé, I wonder if he realizes ... if he waited like, three weeks he wouldn’t have to come up with a Christmas gift." The Flowers hitmaker then pipped: "This was (a) Black Friday deal, baby." She added, "It wasn’t, but he was smart that way. It might have been. I’m not sure." During the show, Cyrus went on to reveal she isn't looking forward to the holidays because she has a big issue with Christmas, as she hates paper, reports femalefirst.co.uk. She explained: "Well, Christmas, I’m known as a little bit of a grinch because I have a qualm with Christmas. I hate paper … Like, looking at that [paper on your desk] makes me want to vomit … The real problem is people have dry hands, and they touch paper, and then it’s Christmas, and it’s cold, and everyone’s hands are dry and they’re all touching paper. When someone sends me a lovely letter, I don’t even open it." The singer went on to joke, "That’s why I got engaged. I make my fiancé open all the packages outside." Cyrus also clarified she will be fine with signing her next wedding certificate because they tend to be drawn up on "waxed" paper which she is ok with. She said: "This thing is waxed paper, like anything that’s got like a smooth surface, that’s better and from the last marriage, I think I remember that the paper is waxed." She added of her paper aversion: "I love text message. No paper. Email, no paper. Phone call, no paper. It’s the ... eh, I can’t even talk about it … It’s getting worse so there does need to be some sort of intervention and I am going to look into some sort of EMDR, being hypnotized about it because it’s affecting my everyday life." 06 December,2025 06:42 PM IST | Mumbai | IANSTaylor Swift and Travis Kelce are all set to get married this summer 2026. Sources tell Page Six that the couple is set to tie the knot on June 13, 2026, at the luxurious Ocean House in Rhode Island. The news comes after she got engaged in a dreamy ceremony in August 2027. About Taylor Swift’s wedding venue According to Page Six's report, the couple is set to marry on June 13, 2026, at the ultra-luxurious Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, New England. The same sources have confirmed that when the couple realised that the venue was already booked by someone else for the same date, Taylor pulled out all the stops she could. It has been reported that Taylor used some of the money from her 1.6 billion dollar empire and made an offer to the couple, which they certainly couldn’t refuse. While there was no proper confirmation from Travis or Taylor’s team, a representative of the venue said in a statement, “When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family. Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date.” Born on December 13, Swift considers 13 her lucky number, and so she chose this date. Originally, Swift reportedly hoped to host an intimate ceremony at her own Watch Hill mansion. However, due to a ballooning guest list, they opted for a different venue. Reports also say Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid have been asked to be bridesmaids. Meanwhile, Travis plans on inviting a lot of childhood friends and his NFL teammates. This shows that the couple has a long guest list, with the wedding hoping to be a star-studded affair. About Taylor and Travis The couple shared pics from their engagement ceremony, in which Swift showed off her huge diamond ring. While sharing the photos from the engagement ceremony, Taylor Swift wrote, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married." Their relationship has been a major topic of discussion since they first went public in October 2023, according to Variety. According to the outlet, Kelce was the one who made the first move that sparked their relationship, and it started when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended Swift's Eras Tour in July 2023.
