The 36-year-old, who was married to Jim Threapleton for three years and director Sam Mendes for seven years, said commitment can be tough but she still wants to be with someone for the rest of her life, reported Contactmusic.

The actress is currently dating tycoon Richard Branson's nephew Ned Rocknroll. "I still believe in the beauty of committing yourself to another person and, at least, in the idea of marriage as an expression of that commitment.

Living with someone will always be a challenge, but you hope to be able to find someone whom you can spend the rest of your days," Winslet said. The actress also said she maintains a close relationship with Mendes for the sake of their children.

"It's not the easiest situation being a single mother, but Sam has been very good in helping me with the kids. They have been spending time with both of us and even though it was hard at first, we're all doing great. I've never felt better," she added.
