Singer Selena Gomez has expressed her gratitude towards her fans for standing by her as she dealt with her mother's miscarriage before Christmas.

The Disney singer-actress was left devastated earlier this month when her mother Mandy lost the baby she was expecting with Gomez's stepfather Brian, Contactmusic reported.

The 19-year-old star has now posted a message online thanking all the fans who sent her messages of support after the tragedy, while she also had said the baby was a girl named Scarlett.

"Belated Merry Christmas everybody... I can't thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every one of you... I love you all so much and we hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!," she posted on Facebook.
