Cruise, 50, who was reportedly blindsided by Holmes' decision to file for divorce, has cut off all contact with the actress, TMZ reported quoting sources. Although Cruise now has "absolutely no contact with Katie," his people are negotiating her people over when and how he can talk to Suri.

The actor apparently speaks to Suri by phone at least once a day but according to sources close to him it has been made difficult by Holmes' side. The actor, who marked his 50th birthday with a simple lunch with his adopted children, is yet to discuss the break-up of his marriage with Suri.

Things are "really bitter now" between the former couple because Cruise feels betrayed by Holmes and thinks she is using Suri as a weapon, the website said quoting sources.

The actor is leaving California before the weekend to shoot his new movie in 'The Rockies'. Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise, her husband of five years in New York last week. She is demanding the sole custody of Suri but Cruise's camp wants the proceedings to be moved to California as NY doesn't like giving waring parents joint custody.u00a0
