Natalie Portman has announced that she is expecting her third child—her first with partner Tanguy Destable—over two years after her split from Benjamin Millepied. The actor opened up about embracing motherhood again with gratitude, calling the journey both deeply joyous and emotionally complex as she prepares for this new chapter.

In an interview with Harpers Bazaar, the actress shared, “It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing,” she says. “And so I know how lucky I am. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
She has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied: son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9. The actress is spending time with her kids to keep herself healthy. She adds, “There’s a calm in knowing myself—who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me—that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
For those unversed, Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of Black Swan, where he was the choreographer. They separated in early 2023 following reports of his affair. Following the split, Natalie Portman was first linked to French musician Tanguy Destable in March 2025.
Destable is a music producer from Paris and has been working in the industry for the past decade. He produced the score for the 2024 Oscar-nominated film I’m Still Here and has worked with pop stars such as Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
Before Natalie, Destable was previously married to French actress Louise Bourgoin, with whom he shares two sons.

The actress-producer has recently wrapped two projects under her banner, MountainA. On the acting front, she will next appear as a stressed art dealer in the dark comedy The Gallerist. Directed by Cathy Yan, the film is slated for release later this year and reportedly revolves around her character attempting to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami.
She will also feature in Netflix’s Good Sex, a romantic comedy set to release next year. Written and directed by Lena Dunham, the film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Meg Ryan, and Rashida Jones.
