BTS, who are preparing for their full-group reunion, achieved yet another K-pop milestone in Japan with their 2018 hit The Truth Untold (feat. Steve Aoki).

According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on Thursday, the single from the group's third full-length album LOVE YOURSELF 'TEAR' had topped 50 million total streams as of October, receiving Gold certification in the streaming category. With this recent achievement, BTS now has 47 Gold-certified hits, extending their reign as Japan's most successful K-pop artists.

BTS breaks yet another record

The RIAJ issues monthly streaming certifications based on total play counts: gold for 50 million streams, platinum for 100 million, and diamond for 500 million.

The Truth Untold, a pop ballad sung by the group's vocal unit (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook), highlights the members' refined vocal tones and restrained emotional delivery. Its soft melody and layered harmonies leave a lasting impression that draws listeners in years after its release.

The song has regained popularity after Jin performed it live while playing the piano during his encore fan event, RUNSEOKJIN EP. TOUR ENCORE, to a passionate response from fans.

BTS is also the first and only K-pop group to have two Diamond certifications from RIAJ for their global songs Dynamite and Butter. Notably, Dynamite reached the 500 million-stream mark in the quickest time ever recorded under the association's rules.

BTS coming back with Spring Album in 2026

BTS is officially gearing up for a massive comeback, marking their full-group return after completing military service. The members have already finished recording their new album, which is set for release in spring 2026, along with preparations for music videos and cover shoots. RM and Jimin have both confirmed that the project is in its final stages, raising excitement among fans who have awaited their first group album since 2022. Their comeback will also kick off a global world tour, promising a landmark new era for the group as they reunite on stage with fresh music, renewed energy and strengthened camaraderie. Fans have been waiting eagerly to see their favourite band back in action after such a long gap due to enlistment.
