While all eyes were on Bollywood releases, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Tamil film, Mersal, turned out to be the surprise package as it took the box office by storm. Adarsh says, "Mersal is amassing excellent numbers in both domestic and international circuits. The film has outshone the Hindi films." The medical drama, which hit screens on October 18, has reportedly crossed the Rs 100-crore mark (worldwide collections) within the first three days of its release.
