Rajinikanth's cult status seems to be serving as Midas touch. One of the vehicles he is using as part of his next film's shoot will become legendary – it is making its way to a museum.

The jeep currently being used by the Thalaiva in Kaala Karikalan will be showcased at an auto museum proposed to be set up in Mumbai by industrialist Anand Mahindra.

The South icon is currently in Mumbai shooting for the film promoted by son-in-law Dhanush. Some of the film's photographs were shared by Dhanush on social networking sites on May 25. In one of them, Rajinikanth is seen in casual wear, sporting sunglasses and sitting on top of a Mahindra Thar jeep.

Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra in a tweet on May 28 expressed desire to use the vehicle at the proposed auto museum. "When the legend @superstarrajini uses a car as a throne, it becomes a legend (sic)," Mahindra said in a series of tweets. "Whoever knows the whereabouts of the Thar used for this shoot please let us know. I'd like to acquire it for our auto museum (sic)," he added.

Yesterday, while responding to the tweet, Dhanush said he'd ensure that the jeep reaches him upon completion of the film's shoot.
