Stills from Bha Bha Bha
Malayalam actor Dileep’s film Bha Bha Bha has been released in theatres today. The Malayalam film has been making noise as it marks Dileep’s first film after his acquittal in the actress assault case. Apart from that, the film has also been in the news for Mohanlal’s action-packed cameo. On the day of the release, fans have been sharing their reviews of the film on X.
Thalapathy Vijay cameo in Bha Bha Bha?
Interestingly, before the release of the film, there was buzz about a cameo by a prominent Tamil actor. After the release, clips and photos from the film started doing the rounds on social media. Among them, the one that stood out was the Thalapathy Vijay reference in the film. Mohanlal has recreated Vijay’s popular pose from Ghilli, with his hands crossed over his head.
Theatres reportedly broke into cheer and applause at references to the Tamil superstar in the film. In another clip, it appears that a colony in the film is named after Thalapathy. A man is also seen wearing a t-shirt with Vijay's face on it.

Amazing to see him play a die-hard fan of Thalapathy @actorvijay with zero ego.
The Ghilli Gypsy narration was a delight, and his perfect imitation of Vijay’s style and gestures in Bha Bha Ba was totally unexpected and spot on! 🔥… pic.twitter.com/ru9s3VoSYm
Dileep’s controversy after acquittal
Days after the acquittal, a heated argument reportedly broke out on a KSRTC bus when an old Dileep film was screened. While several female passengers opposed the screening, others defended it. Protests and calls for complete justice for the survivor were also seen at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Reports indicate that Dileep also withdrew from a temple event in Ernakulam, where he was scheduled to inaugurate the temple festival’s coupon distribution. Sources say there were objections from the temple committee and the Devaswom Board regarding his participation.
Dileep’s last blockbuster was in 2017
While the noise around Dileep and his former involvement in the case may have some impact on the film’s box office, Bha Bha Bha appears to be headed for a strong opening. The rest of the film’s fate will depend on its content and word-of-mouth response.
Dileep’s last blockbuster was Ramaleela. The film was released in theatres in September 2017, months after Dileep was arrested in the actress assault case in July that year. Despite the controversy, the film performed strongly at the box office, largely driven by positive word of mouth.
