Malayalam actress Rini Ann George on Wednesday alleged that a prominent youth leader and people's representative of a well-known political party had sent her objectionable messages and invited her to a five-star hotel. Addressing reporters, George claimed she repeatedly warned the leader and complained to senior party officials, but his behaviour continued. She, however, refused to disclose the leader's name or his party.
Rini Ann George's allegations
The actress spoke out following a recent online interview, which went viral, where she made the allegations publicly for the first time. "I came in contact with the politician through social media. His inappropriate behaviour began three years ago, when I first received objectionable messages from him," George claimed. She alleged that the leader even offered to book a room at a five-star hotel and asked her to visit. She recalled, "He once said, ‘Let’s book a room in a five-star hotel; you should come. At that time, I reacted strongly."

She further claimed that when she warned the leader she would approach senior party officials, he reportedly dismissed her, saying, "You can go and tell anyone, who cares?” He also allegedly questioned her about the fate of political leaders previously accused of sexual harassment.
The Malayalam actress adds, “I have not suffered any assault; I only received these messages. But through my friends, I learnt that several other women faced harassment, and I am speaking up for them.” She decided to speak out after many women, including wives and daughters of politicians, reportedly had similar encounters with him. Rini urged the senior politicians to take action against the young politician.
However, Rini Ann George has not yet filed a complaint against the young politician. While citing the reason, the actress said, “If I file a complaint, I will put myself in danger. That will be the only result. I urge women in the country to elect public representatives wisely.”

Following the allegations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest march to the office of Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, demanding his resignation. Rahul Mankoottathil currently serves as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Palakkad constituency and holds the position of President of the State Youth Congress.
