No politics at audio launch, say Malaysian authorities

Jana Nayagan is already shaping up to be a major event film. With the audio launch just around the corner, Vijay’s arrival in Malaysia has further heightened anticipation for what promises to be one of the biggest cinematic moments of the year.

Ahead of the event, the Malaysian police have reportedly imposed a ban on political speeches and symbols. Many Malaysian media outlets, including the Malaysia Gazette, reported that the Royal Malaysia Police (Polis Diraja Malaysia/PDRM) has announced a ban on politics at the movie's event. The police have also warned of strict action against anyone who violates the rules. The Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan noted that permission was granted for the event solely for an entertainment purpose and that it should not be used for any political messaging.
