Vijay Deverakonda won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu, for his performance in Arjun Reddy, and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu, for his performance in Geetha Govindam.
Vijay Deverakonda has quickly garnered a lot of fans, especially a huge female fan following, thanks to his good looks and charming personality. The actor has also proved that he has a heart of gold by donating to a number of causes.
Recently, Vijay raised over Rs 1.30 crore with the help of his fans to help families during the coronavirus pandemic. He promised that he will take care of the immediate needs of more than 2,000 families.
Speaking to IANS about what he strives for as an actor that the younger generation looks up to, Vijay Deverakonda said, "I strive to entertain the audience, and by not only doing films in general but doing films that the audience connects with."

Talking about how he doesn't really care about how his films perform, Vijay told IANS, "I came into cinema thinking that I'll do whatever I want to do. I don't care how it (his movie) performs. Over time, sometimes you have to show the numbers just to keep the business. For me, when I try a film and it doesn't work, I don't mind if it doesn't work."

Vijay Deverakonda will soon be making his Hindi film debut with the tentatively titled film Fighter, being directed by Puri Jagannadh. Ananya Panday will play the female lead opposite Vijay. The film will release in Hindi and all South Indian languages.
