Looks like filmmaker Shoojit Sircar had been tuning into children's reality shows and was appalled by what the youngsters had to go through. Yesterday, the Piku (2015) director made a clarion call to ban reality TV shows that have children as participants. He tweeted, "Humble request to authorities to urgently ban reality shows involving children. It's destroying them emotionally and their purity (sic)."

The shows on air currently range from finding the kid with the perfect voice to the one with the best comic timing. Earlier this year, Shoojit had directed a short film, Release The Pressure, to create awareness among parents about their kids' performance anxiety.
