The reason the production house approached her was because she had played the lead in a namesake film.

The actress apparently insisted on playing the main lead and not the role they wanted her to essay — that of a mommy.
As a result Simone, who featured in the soap Heena over a decade ago, was chosen for the role. The show’s cast includes Sanjeeda Shaikh and Vatsal Seth.
