Exclusive | Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Mallik reacts to calling his father a 'failure' on national television

The question was whether it was justified to call his father a failure on national TV just to prove a point about struggles to Gaurav Khanna. Amaal reacted, "There is no harm in being a failure; I was 15 years old, and he had said it to me. He has also mentioned it in many interviews that 'I failed, but my sons gave me back the position in life.' I think I have the guts to forget about being image-conscious; I laid down my whole truth. I wanted to tell the truth. I think he failed in his journey, but he took failure beautifully. He came to support me when I had made a few mistakes. I feel that had my father not failed, I wouldn’t have had the hunger and passion to succeed. Due to our family name, people have a perception that we get things ready on a platter. I wanted to prove that it wasn’t the case. My father has said this multiple times earlier as well, so I don't think I did anything wrong in stating the reality."

Amaal calls himself 'Kabir Singh' of Music

Amaal was further asked by a reporter about his personality on the show and threatening co-contestants, "I would have threatened someone outside also if they poked me; it didn’t matter how big or small that person was, I would give it back. I even told my family to cut off ties with me because I am the way I am. I told them that if they felt my words or actions were damaging to my parents or my brother Armaan, I would make that decision too. Outside, I am called the Kabir Singh of music. If you Google my name, before Amaal Mallik’s music, Amaal Mallik’s controversy will appear. I have taken a stand against everything. This is how I am, I follow my heart, if people like me or not, it’s their perspective, eventually, the audience is the king."

Amaal went on to share his take on his complicated friendship with Tanya Mittal, "I am already famous as a name, and we all try to stay away from each other. On humanitarian grounds, I spoke to her. Farrhana had told me that I looked obsessed with Tanya, but I am not the kind of person who immediately cuts off from people, whether it’s a friend or an enemy. I keep poking until the world gets to see the truth. I have stopped doing that now. And I am not obsessed with Tanya."
