Actor Anurag Vyas, who was recently seen in the action-packed series Aashiqana, opened up about his journey on the show, his approach to acting, and what lies ahead in an exclusive conversation. Speaking candidly, the actor reflected on how the project became a turning point in his career and reaffirmed his commitment to meaningful storytelling.

Anurag Vyas's fond memories of Aashiqana

Talking about his fondest memory from Aashiqana, Anurag revealed that his role was initially meant to be short-lived. “Initially, I was cast in Aashiqana for just 12 episodes. But the response to my performance was so positive that the channel decided to extend my track and make my character, Shyam, the face of the show,” he shared. For Anurag, the most memorable moments came from shooting intense action sequences. “My fondest memories are from the intense action sequences where emotions and physical performance had to go hand in hand. That experience truly pushed me as an actor and made the journey even more special,” he added.

As an artist, Anurag said depth is the one element he looks for before signing any project. “I always look for depth in the character. If a role has strong emotions, inner conflict, and scope to explore different layers, I’m interested,” he explained. Emphasising growth as a performer, he added, “For me, acting is about growth, and I choose projects that challenge me creatively and help me evolve as an artist.”

When asked about a role he has been waiting for, the actor expressed his desire to showcase his full potential. “I’m waiting for a role that shows my complete range, emotionally intense, physically demanding, and psychologically powerful. A character that stays with the audience even after the story ends,” he said, confidently adding, “I truly feel that such a role is coming very soon.”

Anurag Vyas on picking good work over mediums

Addressing the debate around mediums, Anurag made it clear that his focus lies elsewhere. “I don’t look at mediums, I look at the craft. Whether it’s TV, OTT, or films, what matters to me is the depth of the character and the scope to perform,” he stated. He further added, “I want people to recognize me as an actor who believes in his craft, not just a hero image. For me, good acting and honest storytelling will always come first.”

Speaking about what’s next, Anurag hinted at exciting times ahead. “You’ll see me in projects that are bigger, stronger, and more impactful. I’m focusing on roles that showcase my true potential as an actor,” he shared. Signing off on a confident note, he said, “Something exciting is on the way, and I’m confident it’s going to leave a strong mark.”
