Divyanka Tripathi
On the 79th Independence Day, the nation celebrates the air of freedom and expresses gratitude to the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Divyanka Tripathi got candid about her NCC training and disciplined upbringing. As her father belongs to the Navy, the actress shared how she was trained and wanted to serve the nation by joining the Army.
Divyanka wanted to join Army
Coming from an NCC army background, Divyanka revealed whether she was keen on choosing the path of serving the nation., "Yes, I genuinely wanted to step into army shoes. The discipline and the courage it took to be an officer fascinated me. But life had other plans, and I eventually became an actor. That dream, however, has never really left me. I have immense respect for those serving the nation, and whenever I’m near soldiers or standing on a training ground, I’m instantly taken back to what life could have been like had I made other choices. It’s always an overwhelming feeling."
Divyanka showcased her daredevil side in Khatron Ke Khiladi. She shared it was a blend of her training and family values, "It comes from a mix of my NCC training, which instilled self-belief and confidence, but also the upbringing I had, where my parents encouraged me to aim for the unachievable. Fear wasn’t something I grew up with. That mindset quietly nurtured a daredevil in me- like a hidden feature no one really knew about until Khatron Ke Khiladi. Every human being has layers, and this is one of mine that just happened to get revealed much later in life. I’m proud of it."
Her message to the fans
Divyanka shared her message for fans, "We need to become better human beings and better citizens- the kind worth protecting. Every day, our officers, soldiers and support staff put their lives on the line for our safety, driven not by money but by pure passion for the country. Their selflessness deserves our respect and the best way to honour it is by acting responsibly, following laws, keeping our surroundings clean, treating people with dignity, driving safely and standing up against wrongs. True patriotism is in the everyday choices that make India stronger and safer for all."
When it comes to services that serve the nation, Divyanka shared what inspires her the most, "Dedication to the cause! Whether it’s a soldier guarding the border, a doctor working tirelessly in a remote village or a citizen standing up for what’s right- the spirit of putting the nation’s welfare above personal comfort inspires me deeply."
