The 17th season of the quiz-based reality show debuted on August 11, 2025, and Amitabh Bachchan, who has been synonymous with KBC, returned as presenter.
In the most recent show, which aired on September 9, Vadodara's Dhara Sharma joined Amitabh Bachchan in the hot seat as a rollover competitor and won Rs 3 lakh. During a lighthearted talk with the host, she provided a personal insight into his relationship with his wife, actress Jaya Bachchan. Dhara joked that his strong admiration for her could be best defined as "Jayaphillic."

Speaking about Big B's relationship with his wife Jaya, Dhara Sharma said, "There is one thing that is associated with you in the entire world: you are Jayaphilic. Everyone would like ma'am, but no one would adore her like you do."
Amitabh Bachchan responded, "Thank you very much, Patni ji, aaj karyakram dekh kar." (My wife will be overjoyed to see this programme today).
During the show, Dhara Sharma referred to herself as an ambivert, a term foreign to Big B. He was intrigued and asked her to explain. Dhara added that, whereas extroverts typically dominate talks and introverts remain restrained, an ambivert is someone who combines both characteristics. Bachchan was amused by her response, saying, "I am taking some time, because I am thinking about who I am."
Dhara accurately answered a Rs 15,000 question on birding, which added to the pleasure of the interaction. She then introduced the term "aviphilic" for bird lovers, which she successfully utilized as a lead-in to praise Big B, eventually coining the name "Jayaphilic."
After properly answering a sequence of questions, Dhara Sharma stumbled on the Rs 25 lakh question and ended up winning Rs 12.5 lakh.
