Fifty artists from India, Korea and the US are showcasing their works at a group exhibition titled, Colours of Spring — 2 that opens today at the Coomaraswamy Hall
As an apt tribute to the season of colours — spring, works of 50 artists from India, Korea and the US have been put on display at the Coomaraswamy Hall. The show, titled Colours of Spring — 2, starts today.
The show’s curator Manmohan Jaiswal, says that the show was created to bring works of artists from different walks
of life with diverse backgrounds and cultural vignettes together and show them on a common platform. “The aim is to
display hidden talents in arts from various parts our country and bring them into the limelight,” adds Jaiswal.

Perhaps it’s the reason why the show offers a mix of works —from Indian masters like MF Husain and Satish Gujral, to international artists like Haemin Kim and Seulki Jung from Korea, and Michael Ryan from the US. The exhibition will also display works by Indian talents including Prafulla Sawant, Pradip Sarkar, sculptor Satish Mane and Pramod Sahasrabuddhe among others.
And, while works of these artists takes centre stage, the show aims to also draw the visitors’ attention to different styles of painting with live demonstration by Sawant and Sarkar.

Besides, there will be a separate section dedicated to the Indian artist Prafulla Dahanukar, who passed away recently.
