Three workshops in a Bandra studio promise to make your weekend fix a heady mix of contemporary dance, hula hooping and mixology

Three workshops to try this weekend

Tangerine Arts Studio has taken the onus of filling up your weekend with fun that is shaken and stirred. For the shakes, there are two workshops — a Contemporary dance class by Israeli choreographer, Atalya Baumer; and a Hula Hoop class by Hoopnotism’s Swati Shah. For ones that look forward to being stirred, a cocktail workshop by Flaming Trio is on the charts.

Tanvi Mehra, the founder of Tangerine Arts Studio feels that the space is for people like her — as she has studied Media, Fashion, Bharatanatyam, Ashtanga Yoga and Hip Hop — who don’t believe in restricting oneself to a specific skill.

The hula-hoop workshop is ideal for those who are bored with stomach crunches. Baumer, a Contemporary dancer says, “The workshops help in giving better exposure and forging a stronger connection between dancers and the public, especially beyond TV.”

Baumer will be teaching techniques of stalwarts such as Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham. The workshop is open to anyone who has been exposed to dance. Regarding the cocktail class, Binny Dhadwal, celebrated mixologist will conduct a three-hour DIY workshop that will include Mint Julep and Sex On The Beach.
