Passenger’s debut in India concluded in Bengaluru on Saturday, after a whirlwind three-city tour in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru this week.
After performing in the Indian capital on November 19, Michael Rosenberg continued his breathtaking journey on Friday (November 21) night, drenching Mumbai in an evening of pure emotion and unfiltered musical joy. The global indie-folk sensation Michael Rosenberg, who shot to fame with 'Let Her Go', carried his heart to the stage, letting every Mumbaikar and fan who had travelled to watch him live immerse in the lyrics of his songs and tunes of his guitar.
Performing in India for the very first time, the English singer-songwriter not only mesmerised Delhi fans but also those in Mumbai as thousands swayed, sang and smiled every time he delivered a heartfelt, intimate song that they didn't particularly know the lyrics too but he said you can sing whatever you like and just have a good time. Thousands of phone lights also rose like stars every time they were moved by his music and transformed the open-air venue into what felt like a living room of shared memories - intimate, emotional and truly heartfelt.
From the tender tune of ‘Fairytales & Firesides’ to the wanderer’s spirit of ‘All the Little Lights’ and the nostalgic ache of ‘Caravan’, every track unfolded like a story. The singer's voice - rich, wistful and dreamy - seemed to pull listeners deeper into each lyric. He ended with ‘Holes’, a slow-burning, soul-stirring closer that felt less like a song and more like a collective exhale.
Undoubtedly the crowd favourite, ‘Let Her Go’ saw fans echoing louder than Passenger himself as couples exchanged a loving smile and best friends held each other's hands tight, taking the night to its peak.
Commenting on the spectacular show, Naman Pugalia, chief business officer - Live Events, BookMyShow, said audiences in India are embracing global artists with an unprecedented intensity and openness that reflect the profound resonance live music has in the country. He added that Passenger’s first-ever tour in India is a testament to this shift and the response in Mumbai was incredible. "Thousands came together, singing every word, creating an atmosphere at once emotional and electric," he shared.
As Mumbai’s spectacular concert drew to a close, the tour headed to Bengaluru, where fans in south India saw him perform live for the first time, and it was like no other in three-city concert tour, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live.
From stripped-down acoustic sets to soaring anthems delivered with raw vulnerability, over the past year alone, Passenger has performed at some of the world’s most iconic venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Beacon Theatre in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London and two sold-out nights at the prestigious Sydney Opera House, showcasing his enduring global appeal and the magnetic quality of his live shows, now bringing his contemporary music to fans in India.
