Kala Viraasat, which is in its fourth year now, presents a confluence of the East and West, as some of India's finest musicians showcase different music forms in different hues
This year, musical festival Kala Viraasat features a rare combination of musicians as Ustad Shujaat Khan (sitar), Ganesh–Kumaresh (violin duo), Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram (ghatam) and George Brooks (saxophone) come together to give music lovers a memorable experience. The audience will also get to witness a brilliant Sufi Qawwali performance by the Chisti Brothers in the second half of the evening, hosted by Banyan Tree Events.

Ustad Shujaat Khan believes that such collaborations can be a great experience for music lovers. “I have performed several times with George earlier, and he has huge respect and knowledge about Indian music. This makes it great fun; I hope the audience can listen to how much we enjoy the performance,” he says.
Though Khan feels that such collaborations are great he adds that a musician should firstly, establish oneself in his/her field of music before venturing into collaborations. “Unless there is an expertise in your own field, collaborations may not be a great idea. If musicians are good, such collaborations are extremely enjoyable,” he adds.
