According to some sources, Nokia China apparently confirmed to launch a smartphone running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor in the market soon.


Both HMD Global, the Finnish tech firm, that owns the rights to use Nokia's brand on smartphones, and Nokia have confirmed their entry into the smartphone market with Android.


In a reply to an user, NokiaPowerUser, Nokia China on Weibo (formerly the Microsoft Lumia account), revealed it is working on a phone with the Snapdragon 835 CPU, but added it will take time for the company to release this device.

Earlier this month, the Nokia 6 smartphone was launched priced at 1699 Yuan (approximately Rs 16,000). It boasts of a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, contains a dual amplifiers speaker with Dolby Atmos technology for sound output, is backed up by a 3,000 mAh battery with a home button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia 6 smartphone has a 5.5-inch full HD display with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass coating and the 4G-enabled smartphone supports Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and USB-OTG.

Camerawise, the Nokia 6, features a 16MP PDAF rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front camera.

The Nokia 6 smart phone has already crossed over 1 million registrations in China, which went on sale in the country on January 19.

After the successful launch of Nokia 6 in China, new rumours have popped up, which stated that HMD Global is going to reveal Nokia's flagship device P1 Android phone at the Mobile World Congress (MCW) 2017. Along with this, the price of P1 has also been revealed.

The starting price of Nokia P1 will be somewhere around Rs. 54,500 for the 128GB model. On the other hand, the 256GB model will cost a whopping Rs. 64,700 approximately.

Along with the price and launch, specifications of the phone have also been tipped. The smartphone is rumoured to run Android Nougat out-of-the-box, flaunt 5.3-inch display, Gorilla Glass 5, and full-HD screen resolution. It is expected to have 6GB RAM and 3500mAh battery backup that will enable fast charging.

Nokia will also be entering the race of foldable smart phones and compete with other giants like Apple and Samsung. The firm reportedly received a patent from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for developing a smart phone that will be foldable in nature and will resemble a pocket mirror.
