'I've fallen for my neighbour's daughter'

Dear Diana |

Dear Diana, I am 28 and have fallen in love with a girl who stays in the neighbourhood. She used to take tuitions from me in school.

She is now 19 years old and in college. At this stage, I think I’m the perfect choice but I don’t know what she or her folk think about me. I used to give tuitions to school children to supplement my income but now that I have a steady job I have stopped doing that. As we are neighbours I keep meeting her but we are still on ‘hi and bye’ terms. How do I take this relationship further?

Dear Yogesh,
You know her well so start dropping hints that you are interested in her. As she is your neighbour, there are many common subjects to strike a conversation with. Or ask her about her college studies. By the way she responds, you can gauge if she seems interested. I am sure you have common friends in the building with whom you can form a group and hang out together. At the same time don’t go overboard as you live in her vicinity and it might strain relations between the two families. If she has feelings for you, she will respond.

Diana will solve it!
